The Georgia High School Association (GHSA) held its one-act play competition November 3 & 10. Numerous high schools from across the state traveled to compete in the 2018 competition. The dramatic competition was divided by school classifications (7A through 1A) based on the school’s student population. The 2018 winners from each division included:

    Lambert High School performing “Fiddler on the Roof”
  • 6A
    Heritage High School (Conyers) performing “The Piano Lesson”
  • 5A
    Buford High School performing “北京福利彩票官网”
  • 4A
    Columbus High School performing “The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time”
  • 3A
    Pierce High School performing “When She Had Wings”
  • 2A
    Davidson Fine Arts performing “A Wrinkle in Time”
  • 1A Private
    Galloway School performing “12th Night”
  • 1A Public
    Georgia Military College performing “9-5 The Musical”

This marked back-to-back one act play championships for Heritage High and Davidson Fine Arts who also took 北京福利彩票官网 the trophy in the 2017 competition. Also at the 1A Private level, Galloway School broke Lakeview High’s impressive win streak that dated back to 2013.

In addition to school honors, several actors and actresses were singled out for their stellar performances during the competition. Best actress winners went to:

  • Ana Celaya of Southeast Whitfield
  • Claire Naylor of Pierce County High School
  • Ava Smith of Davidson Fine Arts
  • Jessica Chunta of Landmark Christian Academy
  • Madison Sloan of Georgia Military College

Best actor awards went to:

  • Christian Anderson of Heritage High School
  • Trevor Dodge of Buford High School
  • Patrick Chappel of Columbus High School
  • Jordan Ray of Central High School
  • Josh Cooper of Bremen High School
  • Daniel Rouhani of Athens Academy
  • Joseph Garcia-Carreras of Lake Oconee Academy
